International freight traffic dynamics

Around the world, several countries and ports require a summary of hs-code updates

The Harmonization System is developed by The international customs council, known as The Harmonization System Code (hs-code).The basic elements for customs and commodity entry and exit administrations of various countries to confirm the category of commodities, conduct commodity classification management, examine and verify tariff standards and examine commodity quality indexes are the general identification of import and export commodities -- HS code.

HS code consists of 22 categories and 98 chapters. The internationally accepted HS codes are composed of 2-bit codes, 4-bit codes and 6-bit codes. The codes and corresponding commodities above 6 bits code are determined by each country.Since 1992, China's customs has adopted the HS coding system, which is composed of eight digits and then changed to ten digits. Each number is followed by a qualified product name.

The world's common HS Code is the HS Code used by each country, starting from the first and ending with the first six digits. The latter is compiled by each country.Because the preceding is the large class chapter Code of commodities, if the world is not universal, then the import and export commodities will be out of order, and the import and export is to determine the nature of commodities by HS Code.

Theoretically, a commodity only corresponds to one HS code, and a HS code does not correspond to one commodity. But when the actual situation is complex, there will be different places. For example, for textiles, two commodities with similar appearance contain cotton and chemical fiber of the same color, but due to different proportions, the HS code will be different. Moreover, different USES of the same goods can sometimes be declared with different HS codes. For example, it is also a small plastic stool. The stool for household goods and the stool for fishing gear are different HS codes.Actually this thing also is right, also can calculate fishing tackle, sometimes contend for a different HS code, it is for an exit drawback.

In recent years, import customs of various countries have required to display HS CODE information in the information of the bill of lading of imported goods. Here we have summarized the requirements of countries on HS CODE we have collected so far.
