China-Europe trains "take a rest" here

Due to different railway track gauges, container reloading operations are required for China-Europe trains to enter the country to ensure that the trains can run smoothly on tracks of different specifications. In Alashankou, Xinjiang, there are strong winds above level 6 for about one-third of the year. Therefore, it is necessary to change clothes indoors so that China-Europe trains can "take shelter" and "rest" in the change room.

There is Asia's largest indoor railway container changing warehouse here - the 23rd China Railway Container Changing Warehouse at Alashankou Station. Now, next to the No. 23 reloading warehouse, a larger No. 22 reloading warehouse is being built. Once completed, it will further improve the reloading capacity and help China-Europe freight trains achieve "acceleration".

Statistics show that since the launch of China-Europe freight trains in 2011, the annual traffic volume of Alashankou has increased from the initial 17 trains to the current nearly 6,000 trains. A total of more than 30,500 trains have passed through Alashankou, accounting for nearly 50% of the total traffic in the country. Currently, Alashankou There are 113 China-Europe freight train lines, reaching 21 countries and covering 25 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country.
