Container yard: refers to the place in the container terminal or around the terminal for the transfer and storage of containers. Sometimes the container yard is also called a yard. Imported goods will be stored in the storage yard, and when the owner needs to pick up the cabinet, he must go to the storage yard to pick up the cabinet.

The speed of container lifting mainly depends on whether the shipping company stores the goods in the public dock yard or the dedicated dock yard. Dedicated wharf means that a certain shipping company cooperates with the wharf. Container ships have the priority to call at the port and have priority to load and unload cargo. The exclusive storage yard refers to the storage yard dedicated to stacking the container cargo of the shipping company.

In addition, the reason that affects the efficiency of picking up the cabinet is that the container does not match the frame. If the container matches the frame, the truck driver can pick up the cabinet directly with the truck head.

Container yards can be divided into inner yards and outer yards. The inner storage yard and the outer storage yard are another reason that affects the efficiency of container lifting. The in-port storage yard is usually within the wharf area, a certain distance from the hinterland of the port; the out-port storage yard is outside the wharf area, generally on the passage between the port and the hinterland.

There are two stacking forms in the outer yard, one is wheeled, that is, the container is stored separately in the yard and equipped with a frame, and the truck driver only needs to bring the truck head to pick up the container directly. This kind of pick-up efficiency is quite high, and the container goods in the outer yard do not need to be reserved in advance for pick-up.

Another way of stacking is the ground, that is, the ground pile. The containers here will be stacked up layer by layer. In addition, there are no gantry cranes in the outer yard that can move back and forth, left and right, but only reach stackers. The reach stacker can only lift the top container, so the ground-stacked containers are waiting to be matched with the frame. It will take a certain amount of time to find the container and finally take out the container, so the efficiency of picking up the container will be much slower.
