In the 1980s and 1990s, China's southeastern coastal cities attracted a large number of export companies to settle down in these cities because of their convenient sea export channels, and foreign trade developed rapidly. Today, although Chongqing and Chengdu, as inland cities, are not close to the sea or along the coast, the successive opening of the China-Europe Railway Express has enabled the two cities to have efficient and convenient trade channels.
The China Railway Express has created new business routes, and more and more companies have begun to regard Chongqing and Chengdu as new coastal cities. Chongqing and Chengdu are forming a new inland coastal economic circle with twin stars shining in the southwest of my country. In 2022, Chengdu's GDP will be 2.08 trillion yuan, and the total import and export volume will reach 834.64 billion yuan, showing a trend of rising against the trend.
In 2022, new energy vehicles will become a new bright spot for exports. At the Chengdu International Railway Port, there will only be more than 920 new energy vehicles exported to Europe through the China Railway Express in 2021, but this number will increase fivefold in 2022. In January of this year, the export volume of new energy vehicles set a new record again, and received orders for 20,000 units, four times the sales performance of last year.
For more than ten years, the import and export demands of various countries and regions along the route have been constantly changing. At the same time, with the continuous expansion of the foreign trade circle of friends in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, the volume of import and export commodities has continued to increase, and the variety has also continued to increase. "Railway + Seaport", "Railway + Yangtze River Golden Waterway", the increasingly dense feeder network has continuously improved the international train and sea and land freight system in this region, and a new inland coastal economic circle has emerged, gradually forming the China-Europe Railway Express. The coordinated operation of multi-dimensional trains such as the Western Land-Sea New Corridor train has created a golden channel in the global supply chain.
In 2022, the scale of trade between my country and countries along the "Belt and Road" will hit a record high, and the growing circle of friends along the "Belt and Road" cannot do without the help of the China-Europe Railway Express. Since the first China-Europe train "Yuxinou" departed from Chongqing in 2011, the China-Europe train has gradually built a major bridge for cooperation among countries along the "Belt and Road".
In 2022, there will be 16,000 China-Europe freight trains, an increase of 9% over the previous year; 1.6 million TEUs of goods will be sent, an increase of 10% over the previous year; 756,000 TEUs of goods will be sent by the western land-sea new channel trains, an increase of 18.5% year-on-year .
Behind the ever-increasing data, Mercedes-Benz’s China-Europe trains on the “Belt and Road” not only have more and more routes and more and more frequent trains, but are also constantly improving and optimizing in terms of transportation scale, technical equipment, and service concepts. As the pace of economic recovery continues to accelerate, the China-Europe Railway Express will continue to demonstrate China's power and speed, and become a "golden bridge" to unblock the domestic and international dual cycles.
