At the press conference, Shu Jueting, spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, said that in the first 10 months of this year, my country’s foreign trade has made steady progress in general, and the total import and export volume, total export volume, and total import volume have all reached new highs in the same period in history, and foreign trade operations in the fourth quarter will continue to maintain within a reasonable range.

According to Shu Jueting, in recent months, due to factors such as weakening external demand, geopolitics, and the spread of the epidemic, the monthly growth rate of imports and exports has slowed down, which is basically consistent with the overall trend of the global economy and trade. Entering the fourth quarter, the external environment became more complex and severe, uncertain and unstable factors increased, and insufficient external demand became a prominent challenge. At the same time, the impact of the high base at the end of last year gradually emerged, and foreign trade imports and exports will be further under pressure.
